The blurb is deceptive, making you expect a segment of the book is going to explain Daniels heart condition yet the only reference to his heart condition is it's on the wrong side of his chest. Nothing else. Nada regarding his operations or the six random heart defects. Why did he want to kill himself? At no part does it ever tell us. What is the book regarding you might ask? Exceptional question. Daniel wants more significance in a relationship than just sex. The kid is only in high school! So anyway, he meets Chloe, whom he genuinely likes, but she just wants is "to get it on". Thenceforth the two fool around a lot and that is the basis of the story. There is more to the plot that I will leave a mystery as not to ruin the whole story. I should mention that the writing itself was favorable. The author seems to just forgotten what topic he was writing about.

This book is one of the most meaningful and enjoyable books that I have ever read. The author writes from his heart and his writing is so moving and genuine that I cried when I read the book. Since the book was not that long, I actually read it twice.

After reading the book, I am so looking forward to reading more books from this talented young author!

After I've finished this great short story, but BIG impact in my heart. I still can't believe that this story reminds me about my first true love with an innocent teenage girl. I still felt the joy and pain inside my heart. The author shares the unique charterer through Young boy while capturing my heart along the story line. Wait for more book from Daniel. So please keep writing.
I enjoyed Right-Hearted and I think Daniel Wallock is off to a great start if he chooses a life of writing. There's a beautiful rawness to his tale, a realness, that I think a lot of us can relate to when we think of our own teen years. I cannot relate to Daniel's medical condition, and though there's not a lot of detail about it in the book itself (more can be found in his other writings), he wrote in such fashion that gave a taste of what it must be like, an underlying sense of the pain and loneliness of his life. There is depth to this young man, something resounding through the tale that has you rooting for him, feeling for him. There is room for Daniel's writing and story-telling to mature, but as it stands, it's good and worth a read.

Well-written accounting of a teenagers life-threatening heart condition and love. Wallock can write! I was impressed beyond words at the ability to tell his story in a colorful, passionate way--and I don't impress easily.

This story is worth blogging about!!!
Great stories and miniskirts share two required elements they're short enough to arouse interest but long enough to cover the subject. This book fits this description perfectly. Wallock reveals his inner ruminations and insecurities in ways I have felt but not known how to express, and puts heart into his words without getting sappy or "woe is me." The meat of a good story is story, after all, and many memoirs miss this while Wallock keeps story to the front from page one to The End. This is a memoir the way they should be written.
After reading the description of your book I felt a pull to read it. I read it in one sitting. I am 53 & an RN. I delivered children like you but was never able to follow up on them. I expected your story to be longer but I could relate to your story. I want you to write more about your experiences. It doesn't only help those who have had major health issues as children, people of your own age but it helps us older people as we face major health issues as we age. I like your expression of your age. It shows we are all one - we all suffer at some time or another, life can be quite hard to bear at times but your message of hope, your happiness at being alive, your focus on nature touched a cord in me. I am struggling to stay alive Daniel, as many people are. I need hope & youthful enthusiasm and I hope to be alive to read more of your work in the future.
